Into the multi -verses - about multiple mentor
It's been a while since an IEM has truly given me goosebumps, but it's finally here again!
The Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor achieves what very few other IEMs manage - it impresses from the first note.
But before I go into more detail about the sound, as always, a few unboxing impressions...
The Multiverse Mentor comes in a simple yet stylish blue, not-too-large box. Unique Melody dispenses with frills and focuses on the essentials: the product. This is protected by a generous, high-quality blue leather case and offers plenty of space for additional accessories.
And here we have the Multiverse Mentor IEMs in all their glory—of course with a high-quality (blue) cable. The cable has the sonorous name "Deep of Universe" and is manufactured specifically for the Multiverse Mentor by PWAudio. The quality is accordingly excellent this cable and it fits perfectly with the IEMs both visually AND sound-wise.
By now, it's clear that the color blue dominates this product. Of course, whether you like it or not is a matter of taste—I think it looks quite classy and stylish.
The only exception are the faceplates, which are made from banksia seeds. Banksias are a genus of plants within the Proteaceae family. Of the 80 species, only one (Banksia dentata) occurs outside of Australia. (Source: wikipedia.com)
The Shells are made of carbon fiber and (blue) titanium frames. A variety of premium materials are used here, giving the Multiverse Mentor its unique appearance.
When you look at the faceplates in different lighting conditions, the dark areas create a kind of hologram effect, giving you the feeling of peering into an unfathomable depth. Hence the name Multiverse Mentor, because with a little imagination, you can peer into other "universes"...
But that's just my personal theory on naming. 😅
But what does it sound like?
I tested the Multiverse Mentor with the brand new Cayin N7 DAP, because both devices arrived at almost the same time.
What can I say: The very first bars of the music left me gasping for air, and after just a few minutes I needed my first break.
Not because it sounded so bad, but quite the opposite: What this combo sent into my ears and brain was absolutely stunning, and at first, almost too much of a good thing! After a brief pause, I dared to try it again, and a broad grin, along with goosebumps, involuntarily appeared.
This only happens to me very rarely and it's a sure sign that this is a truly special product.
The Multiverse Mentor (MM) operates with verve and passion unlike any other IEM I've ever experienced. Everything, absolutely EVERYTHING, is simply big—absolutely huge!
stage && Imaging
The MM creates the largest and most three-dimensional soundstage I have ever heard from an IEM. This would make the MM the first in-ear monitor to feature the legendary Oriolus Traillii in this respect equals and even surpasses him.
Details & Treble
But not only the stage is unique, the MM also sweeps the details around your ears as if there were no tomorrow. And the highs are incredibly airy and transparent, without being in the least strenuous to be "sibilant", i.e. to produce unpleasant hissing sounds.
Middle && Voices
Vocals and the midrange in general are wonderfully natural, and you feel like you're actually standing in front of the artists during live recordings. It doesn't get any better than this! Or is it?
BASS!!!
Yes! Because I forgot to mention that the Multiverse Mentor produces arguably the most powerful, bone-chilling bass I've ever heard from a balanced armature setup! Correct me: This is probably the best bass I've ever heard from an in-ear, period.
In combination with the Cayin N7, this might be almost too much for some music lovers, because what this combination sends to the ears is not for the faint of heart!
I've listened to countless IEMs, DAPs, and combos of both over the years, and I'm not easily flustered. This happened here, but after a short adjustment period, the Multiverse Mentor and N7 combo had me hooked!
A customer who listened to several DAPs and flagship IEMs last week also directly Multiverse Mentor demo kept, so I'm left without for now. 😱😣
The withdrawal symptoms are already noticeable and so I have no choice but to order a new MM demo as soon as possible in order to enjoy this addictive station wagon to come.
Conclusion: Addictive
In conclusion, all I can say is that the Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor is simply stunning - in the truest sense of the word!
Do you like the feeling of being at a live concert and sitting directly in front of the orchestra or Standing with the band, not just hearing the music but feeling it? Do you want a haunting, intense, sweat-inducing experience? Do you want to dive into other dimensions?
Great! Then you have the Multiverse Mentor the IEM found that brings you closest to this feeling.
For Music lovers who prefer a relaxed atmosphere will not find anything here, because with the Multiverse Mentor they would quickly become overwhelmed.
The Multiverse Mentor is not an IEM that can or wants to please everyone. It polarizes, and you either like it or you don't. It is a statement that combines current technology and great Tuning is possible today and therefore takes the top spot in my personal list of the best!
So, enough writing - I have to write a new one very quickly now. Multiverse Mentor - Order a demo. 🙌😍
