Standard cable Noble Audio Kronos
The standard cable of the Kronos already delivers a very clear and spatial sound. Those who know the Kronos also know how wonderfully detailed and clear it sounds.
Nevertheless, one is always in search of the ultimate or it can never be spatial and detailed enough. That is why I have already tested other cables in the past to make IEMs a little "better."
This has often brought some improvement, although the influence/improvement was always limited.
When Tom told me about the Satin Audio Zeus 2, I immediately perked up. Apparently, the sound characteristics improve significantly with this cable and not just in small nuances.
In the next section are accordingly my impressions.
Satin Audio Zeus 2
The Zeus 2 is the standard variant of this model. Whereas the "better" Eternal variant simply has more strands.
In general, even without listening to the cable, it can be said that the design and quality are at such a high level that it alone as a cable is an enormous enrichment for every IEM. In short, it is an enormously beautiful and high-quality cable, like I have never seen before.
After changing the cable, it quickly becomes clear that the Zeus 2 not only looks good but also sounds extremely good. I have never experienced that before. The sound characteristic actually changes noticeably. So not only does it change, but it improves.
You only expect small nuances, but with this cable the spatiality noticeably increases. The behavior with the details is identical; they become noticeably more precise and clearer. It's as if a veil is lifted.
As you can tell from my words, I am very amazed by the effect. However, you also have to see that the original Kronos cable is already an expensive and very good cable. If such an improvement is achieved with the Zeus 2 (just by a cable), it must be extremely good or the choice of materials is excellent.
As a successful conclusion, and of course to be sure that I am not imagining anything, I switched back to the standard Kronos cable.
The effect was as follows: "Ooooh damn, I need a Zeus 2" XD
Satin Audio Zeus 2 Eternal
With the Eternal variant or the even better Zeus 2, I no longer want to refer to the original Kronos cable, but directly to the standard Zeus 2. The sound characteristic is accordingly comparable to the normal variant.
What is noticeable, however, is that the soundstage becomes a bit larger. The effect is also comparable with the details, which become even better. Although I rather have the feeling that the midrange area moves closer, making the details more present.
It can definitely be said that an improvement is noticeable again, but clearly not as big as the switch from the original Kronos cable to the standard Zeus 2.
Summary
In the end, I can only say that this cable brings out the top performance from every IEM. Additionally, it opens up new possibilities as the sound characteristic is noticeably improved.
If you don't feel like or don't have the budget for new IEMs, you can get the Zeus 2, which generates a "new" better listener.
Regarding the choice between Standard and Eternal Zeus 2, you could say that the Zeus 2 is extremely good and the Zeus 2 Eternal is just a bit better. The question also depends on the rest of the equipment, which of the two makes sense. As well as whether you prefer a handy (Zeus 2) or a thicker (Zeus 2 Eternal) cable.
