But how does it sound?

Well, perhaps a few final words about the sound. The Ti, or rather the R01 motherboard for the N6ii, is something very special:

Not only will it be the last of a total of six different boards, it's also the most complex. For the first time, a discrete R2R ladder DAC has been implemented in such a small space. And with incredibly high quality, too.

The result: Compared to the existing, equally excellent boards, increased spatiality, clarity and a certain analog feel that makes the music playback seem more organic.

Maybe Cayin wants to compensate us for the lack of tubes, which are present in the N3Pro and N8.

For me, it's definitely a winner and now my favorite combo, along with many in-ears and headphones. Even the Spirit Torino Valkyria, the absolute top model, gets the proper power. And that's from a mobile player.

I am thrilled!

So what exactly is R2R?

I'd like to take a closer look at this in one of the next blogs. A full-size headphone amplifier from Audio-GD, the R27, is already on the way...
