Silver Edition - Our best USB cable
We worked for several years on developing the ultimate USB cable; the result was USB Excalibur. Our goal was simple: to develop the best USB cable in the world without compromises or shortcuts. Excalibur is a high-quality high-speed cable with improved data and power transmission, a complement to the existing USB series. Both the data pair and the power pair are optimized for their purpose, the transmission of data and power.
The twisted data pair consists of PE-insulated, silver-plated, oxygen-free copper wires. The silver layer is very thick, 3.8% of the entire wire, to ensure the best conductivity and a high velocity factor. Silver is excellent for high frequencies and high-speed data transmissions.
The construction of the power conductors is completely different from that of the data pair. To avoid power losses and maximize the wire cross-section, we used 4 tinned wires in a star quad configuration. The star quad design and separate shielding significantly reduce any RFI.
You will probably recognize the design of the connectors; the USB connectors are descendants of our popular HDMI connectors. Fully shielded in aluminum. The connectors are detachable to allow the cable to be installed in 16-millimeter conduits including the contact. No more cutting and resoldering on site, which would jeopardize the typical Supra top performance.
