The Wavedream NET is a unique product that combines a high-performance audio server and a state-of-the-art memory-based CD transport. You can enjoy your CD collection, playback on internal storage or the latest streaming experiences from just one device.

The NET is of course the best addition to the Wavedream DAC via the HDlink (I2S) connection.

ISOLATED MUSIC SERVER

The audio server embedded in the NET is galvanically isolated from the audio side to prevent unwanted noise from entering sensitive areas. We carefully balanced the server's power consumption with its processing performance.

Very high computing power means more complex and power-hungry CPUs, which is not necessarily an advantage for audio playback. The server software is based on a lightweight version of Linux, which gives our quad-core processor enough headroom to run many audio services in parallel.

PURELY LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

One of our design goals was to eliminate the need for a switching power supply, which can potentially cause increased noise and possible harmful effects when placed near sensitive audio circuits. Therefore, there are only linear power supplies in the NET, including the power supply for the server side.

At first glance, you might be tempted to use a powerful CPU on the principle of "the bigger the better". In fact, high computing power is not always necessary and brings with it the advantages of lower noise, simpler architecture, lower EMI emissions and of course lower power consumption.
