"Design has never been a static practice.
But I don't believe in revolutions. In fact, nothing is ever truly a revolution, and we should be aware of that. The concept of revolution is romanticized just as the concept of disruption is glorified.
What looks like a revolution to the untrained eye is actually a series of events and factors that interact with each other condition. You just have to zoom in.Those who just call it a revolution often don't see that it involves a multitude of events.
Every "new" thing is Not only is it heavily dependent on existing contexts, it is also born from them, so in a way it is wrong to describe it as new.
The overarching goal of our design and development process "It has always been to offer people a transformative experience, a transformation through emotions and sensations. Every day we try to get a little better at this."
- Antonio Meze, chief designer and founder
THE ART OF EVOLUTION
Overcoming time is an art form mastered by few, an art of patience and thoughtfulness.
LIRIC, our closed-back isodynamic headphones, opens a new chapter by transforming its Essence enhanced while introducing richer sound and refined tuning.
Makassar Ebony adorns the ear cups, inviting you to connect with the feeling of warmth that only Mother Nature can provide. Combining form and function, the earpads have been redesigned for effortless maintenance and now feature a removable magnetic design.
The art of evolution means changing with a familiar touch.
A STRIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT
"We knew from the start that there was great potential for sonic development.
It was a long process to determine the exact areas for improvement, but we had an ace up our sleeve - the feedback from our loyal community.
It looks like we're building a symbiotic relationship here, which, to be completely honest, is the right thing to do feels."
- Alex Grigoraș, acoustic engineer
Improved tuning
The sound of the LIRIC has been refined with the help of feedback from our community and now lies between a balanced and a warm profile.
This means you get a mix of clear and precise sound with a hint of warmth for get additional depth.
QWRM
The Quarter Wavelength Resonator Mask is a precision-machined metal component that covers strategically selected openings in the driver frame to effectively attenuate high frequency peaks above 7 kHz for a less fatiguing listening experience.
A FEELING OF WARMTH
As we come from the traditional craftsmanship of the Maramures, we decided to keep the design language of the first LIRIC generation but warm it by using wood.
On this trip we discovered Macassar ebony - a heavy, dense and aesthetically pleasing hardwood known for its deep, rich brown coloring punctuated by delicate golden brown streaks.
DESIGNED FOR LIFE
In the spirit of natural evolution, LIRIC joins the Meze Audio product family with removable magnetic ear cushions.
This design choice ultimately means improved reliability and ease of maintenance, features that audiophiles and music lovers worldwide rely on used to.
QUALITY IN EVERY DETAIL
Our high quality hand-braided copper cable is now the standard cable for LIRIC.
Focused on improving the listening experience, we offer a premium cable with 4.4mm connector that fits most portable headphone amplifiers is suitable, as well as a 3 m long, soft TPE cable with 3.5 mm jack, which is ideal for headphone systems at home.
PRESSURE COMPENSATION SYSTEM
To provide optimal pressure in the ear cups and better control of airflow, the LIRIC features our fine-tuned pressure equalization system.
It has also been improved to provide a smoother transition from the bass range to the lower midrange reach.
ROBUST CONSTRUCTION, HIGHEST COMFORT
To the already optimal mix of materials was added the striped ebony, which consolidated the role of LIRIC in the world as a sophisticated work of art in the chapter of material choice alone.
The gradual evolution was the key to this impressive fusion of leather , wood and metal. True to our uncompromising attitude, this new construction is equally flexible and resistant to shock, wear and oxidation.
The impact of this premium selection is evident in several sensory dimensions: a lightweight, pleasant to the touch, easily adjustable headphone that extends over will stand the test of time for generations.
OVER THIRTY YEARS OF AUDIO INNOVATION
Rinaro Isodynamics was founded in Ukraine during the Cold War to research acoustic technologies and has been innovating in the field of planar magnetics for over 30 years. The company expanded with new R&D and manufacturing facilities in Ukraine and Poland, which were instrumental in the development of the Isodynamic Hybrid Array technology used in the Empyrean, Elite and Liric headphones.
AWARD-WINNING TECHNOLOGY
LIRIC features state-of-the-art technology developed by Rinaro, redesigned for everyday use. The MZ4 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver has been intentionally reduced in size and tuned to provide a similar sound experience to its larger counterparts in the Empyrean II and Elite.
Combined with the closed-back design, it helps maintain the original clarity and emotion of your favorite music through improved sound and minimized outside noise. Each driver is assembled and tested entirely by hand at the Rinaro industrial plant in Ukraine.
[MZ4] HOUSING
Reinforced polymer housing designed to withstand the high load of 10.7 N generated by the hybrid magnet array.
Weighing only 0.08 g and a large active area of 3507 mm2.
[MZ4] HYBRID MAGNET ARRAY
Our neodymium magnets are arranged symmetrically on both sides of the membrane in a hybrid array to create a 0.3 Tesla isodynamic magnetic field, required for uniform activation across the entire membrane area.
MZ4 ISODYNAMIC HYBRID ARRAY DRIVER
The MZ4 driver, developed exclusively for Meze Audio, was already successfully used in the first generation of LIRIC. More than 30 years of research and development have gone into this technology, which has resulted in one of the lightest and most advanced planar magnetic drivers on the market.
An innovation of the MZ4 driver developed by Rinaro himself, is the Phase-X™ system, which improves the spatial effect and spatial sound imaging, which is often a problem with closed headphones.
EXTREMELY LOW DISTORTION
Total harmonic distortion (THD) is less than 0.15% across the entire frequency range.
LIGHT WEIGHT
71 g combined driver weight for a headphone that enables comfortable listening even on the go.
Phase-X™ SYSTEM
Improved spatial effect and spatial sound imaging through innovative technology.
Patent pending
ULTRA HIGH RESOLUTION AUDIO
The upper frequency limit of audio playback is 92,000 Hz.
EASY-TO-DRIVE
100dB@1mw/1kHz; 30ΩCan be driven by almost any portable source without the need for amplification.
SCALED FLAGSHIP OF ISODYNAMIC HYBRID ARRAY TECHNOLOGY
One of the most sophisticated and advanced planar magnetic technologies in the world has been reduced in size for portable use. Patented in the US, EU, China and other countries.
ADVANTAGES OF A DOUBLE POWERED SYSTEM
The MZ4 driver combines individual switchback and spiral voice coils in the same diaphragm, allowing sound to be more accurately aligned with the natural shape of the ear for more selective acoustic performance. This combination allows the headphones to achieve increased exposure to direct sound wave frequencies over the 10 kHz range, as well as improved imaging and localization by reducing the effects of short-wavelength time delays caused by diffuse field reflections.
SWITCHBACK COIL
The switchback coil is more efficient in reproducing low frequencies and is located in the upper part of the driver.
SPIRAL COIL
The spiral coil is more efficient at reproducing medium-high frequencies and is positioned directly above the ear canal so that the sound waves reach the ear more directly and without delay.
ISOPLANAR MEMBRANE MATERIAL
The membrane is made of a specially developed isotropic, thermally stabilized polymer with a conductive layer. An ultra-light yet stiff membrane was achieved through unique processing methods.
Phase-X™, IMMERSIVE SPATIAL SOUND IMAGING
An innovation of the MZ4 driver is the Phase-X™ system, developed by Rinaro to minimize phase distortion that normally occurs with closed-back headphones. This patent-pending technology helps create an impressive spatial sound image.
The Phase-X™ system improves the accuracy of spatial imaging compared to open headphones, which is particularly noticeable with binaural recordings.
RECORDING THE ORIGINAL SOURCE
Absolute Linear Phasing provides the listener with the original spatial image as it was recorded. This includes both the information from the instruments and the recording environment itself.
NON-LINEAR PHASING
Non-linearities in the phase response noticeably affect the reproduction of the spatial image of the original recording.
Phase-X™ SYSTEM
With the additional Phase-X™ system, LIRIC achieves a more linear phase response and a faster decay of the transient response. This allows for more faithful reproduction of transients and improves atmosphere and spatial imaging for the listener, bringing them closer to the original recording.
