At first the possibilities seemed endless, but reality showed us that few of our plans were feasible. We made many revisions to find the right proportions and materials that would deliver the sound signature we were aiming for."

Artsmanship meets craftsmanship
Beautiful in both form and texture, the Empyrean II is an experience for the senses. The Empyrean II is a natural step forward from Meze's first planar magnetic headphones, retaining all the beloved elements of its iconic predecessor, with an added touch of sonic and sculptural elegance.
The Empyrean II's CNC-machined aluminum frame features a sleek matte black finish and a redesigned grille inspired by the bold and timeless Art Deco patterns. In the middle of the all-black frame, a silver accent provides a radiant glow.

The aluminum grille turned out to be not so good, there was an unexpected structural failure, and we changed colors almost daily, struggling to find the perfect combination. Empyrean II is the result of the fruitful collaboration between two passionate companies that set out to break new ground. Meze's engineering team has masterfully harnessed the power of Rinaro's biodynamic hybrid array driver to achieve a new world of sound.
A sonic masterpiece reinterpreted
For the second generation model, Meze Audio specialists have further refined the exceptional design of Rinaro Isodynamics' Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver to achieve even better performance.
The aim was to improve the headphones' ability to reproduce fine details and achieve a more neutral sound signature, while maintaining the "easy to listen to" character of the original Empyrean. Using sophisticated tuning methods, the Meze team was able to reveal new possibilities in terms of resolution and detail reproduction, achieving cleaner and more precise reproduction of audio data.

Empyrean II comes with two sets of ear pads that provide the ultimate sound customization: Duo and Angled Alcantara:
Crafted from a precise blend of high-quality leather and Alcantara, the Duo ear pads give the distinctive sound profile of the Empyrean II a modern dimension. With leather forming the bottom half and Alcantara covering the rest, these ear pads deliver a harmonious balance of sound that resonates well in all genres of music.
The angled ear cushions made of soft Alcantara-coated foam and a fine protective mesh on the grille are ideal for reproducing fine details and nuances in your recordings. The angled shape creates more space inside the ear cushion, resulting in an airier sound signature with clearer bass and improved mid-frequency presence.
ARCHITECTURE OF THE ISODYNAMIC HYBRID ARRAY DRIVER©
Rinaro's Isomagnetic® coupling technology makes changing ear pads a breeze. It uses the degaussing field created by the driver to hold the earpiece in place while also redirecting the magnetic field back into the driver, increasing efficiency.

Glass fiber reinforced ABS.
The diaphragm reversing coil is more efficient at reproducing low frequencies and is located in the upper part of the driver.
The spiral coil of the membrane is more efficient at reproducing medium and high frequencies and is located directly above the ear canal, so that the sound waves enter the ear canal more directly and without time delay can penetrate the ear.
Fully maintainable
Meze attaches great importance to long-lasting products. This also applies to the Empyrean II: Every part of the headphone housing can be easily disassembled and serviced if necessary.
