  • Ultra-low-distortion driver made of diamond
  • Double-layer wound coil with high conductivity
  • New surround made of special polyurethane
  • Solid stainless steel housing milled from a single block
  • Maintenance-friendly design

The Final Audio A10000 is a flagship in-ear with a genuine diamond membrane that reduces distortion to a minimum. The stainless steel housing features the "Côtes de Genève" decoration known from watchmaking. Acoustic excellence and aesthetic ambition are combined here into an integral unit.

Diamond as the ideal membrane material

Diamond has a very high speed of sound and enormous stiffness – perfect conditions for a speaker membrane. Especially the exceptional bending stiffness was crucial to realize the "Ultra-Low-Distortion" driver we aimed for. Using a laser displacement meter, it can be observed that conventional hard membranes deflect in various directions, causing distortion. With diamond, this deflection is extremely small due to its stiffness, effectively suppressing unwanted vibrations of the membrane surface.

For this model, we use a "True Diamond" film: diamond is crystallized on a silicon substrate, then the silicon is removed – leaving a genuine diamond film.

Newly developed surround

Diamond has a density of about 3.5 g/cm³, roughly twice that of beryllium. This posed the risk that conventional surround materials could not keep up with the membrane weight and would "roll away." Additionally, common surround materials tend to resonate at certain frequencies. Therefore, we use a special polyurethane that overcomes the disadvantages of conventional PU surrounds – especially rapid aging. The material combines low weight with high elasticity and damps unwanted resonances without restricting the free movement of the membrane.

Diaphragm forming without adhesives

Instead of bonding diaphragm and surround as usual, we developed an independent forming process that combines pneumatic and thermal forming. The connection occurs on a molecular level without adhesive. This eliminates batch variations caused by adhesive amounts and differences in bonding area—problems hardly avoidable with conventional methods.

Revised voice coil

To ensure the diaphragm guided by the flexible surround performs a clean piston movement, the construction of the voice coil, normally fixed with adhesive, was revised. We use a “coil-in-coil” design (double-layer wound voice coil) with high conductivity. This prevents weight fluctuations and distortions caused by varying adhesive amounts.

Result: Ultra-low-distortion driver

Through the combination of new materials and manufacturing technologies, the newly developed diamond driver achieves a distortion rate of less than 1/100 of the conventional model in frequency ranges below 100 Hz.

The drastically reduced distortion and improved amplitude/frequency characteristics in the deep bass lead to unprecedented bass precision. At the same time, the midrange and treble benefit: transients are reproduced more cleanly, and the mid/high frequency range sounds transparent and detailed. The enormous resolving power reveals the finest information, while the clear separation of individual instruments is maintained – regardless of which frequency range is focused on. Since practically no distortion is audible, the silence between notes feels more intense, and individual tones stand out more clearly.

Solid milled stainless steel housing with “Côtes de Genève”

The housing is made of high-strength, precision-milled stainless steel. It optimally stabilizes the driver and suppresses unwanted housing vibrations, sharpening the contours of the sound reproduction.

The elaborate, wave-shaped precision milling finish “Côtes de Genève” (known from luxury watchmaking) is used as the surface finish. Besides the aesthetic effect, the milled structure offers a defined surface geometry that clearly differs from polished surfaces.

Maintenance-friendly design for long service life

Adhesive is largely avoided during the assembly of the housing and the DU unit. Instead, screwed connections are used. This not only facilitates long-term repairs but also increases structural stability through defined screw preload and reduces resonances of each individual component.
