Cayin CP6 – Portable CD Player with Triple-Timbre

Since the launch of the legendary CDT-15A CD player in 2001, Cayin has been a pioneer in integrating tube and transistor dual-timbre technologies. With the CP6, Cayin brings decades of expertise to a portable chassis that combines the sonic finesse of a stationary desktop hi-fi system with true mobility. Every phase – from digital signal processing to power management – has been comprehensively optimized.

• Triple-Timbre Vacuum Tubes: Three selectable sound modes (Classic, Modern, Solid-State) for headphone (PO), line (LO), and Bluetooth outputs.

• Dual Power Supply (DC & BAT): Up to 7.5 hours of battery life and increased power of up to 1300 mW + 1300 mW (@ 16 Ω) in stationary DC power operation.

• Bidirectional Bluetooth: Flagship Qualcomm QCC3083 chipset (Bluetooth 5.4) supports high-resolution transmission and reception while maintaining tube sound modes.

• Fully discrete amplifier circuit: Fully balanced 4-channel headphone amplifier with switchable Class-A or Class-AB operation. Effortlessly drives loads from 8 Ω to 600 Ω.

• Audiophile Hardware & Ripping Function: Equipped with two Cirrus Logic CS4308P DACs, two OPA1612 operational amplifiers, and a 16-core XMOS XU316 USB platform. Also supports lossless CD ripping to USB media.

Tube Architecture & Tonal Colors (Timbre)

At its core are two precisely matched tubes of the type Raytheon JAN6418 (NOS subminiature pentodes from the USA) operating in a Class-A circuit. Switch between three tonal colors at the push of a button:

• Classic Timbre: Extremely low distortion, smooth, natural, and musical; ideal for long listening sessions.

• Modern Timbre: Combines the dynamics of a pentode with the low distortion of a triode; offers a wide soundstage and tight bass. Ideal for orchestral and electronic music.

• SS (solid-state) timbre: Clean, transparent, fast, and highly precise.

Housing design & anti-shock mechanism 

• Material: Precision-milled 6063 aerospace aluminum with fine sandblasting (180 grit) in matte iron gray.

• Anti-shock: A mechanical damping (protective sleeve, shielding, and suspended chassis) effectively protects the tubes from microphony effects and external vibrations.

• Safety: Viewing window made of green filter glass to protect against laser radiation (certified as Class 1 laser product).
