The star is born again and the successor to the famous HA-2SE amplifier is ready for the market to rise even higher than its predecessor. The HA-2SE was one of the best-selling devices in the Auris product range, putting Auris Audio at the forefront of headphone amplifiers in the world. After many years of "flow", the company stopped producing this particular amplifier at the end of 2019.
The HA-2SE is getting a successor that will have a similar base and price range, but with many improvements and additions in comparison to his predecessor. The main feature is that it is equipped with a balanced input and output.
Amplifier
Auris HA-2SE+ is a balanced single-ended headphone amplifier. The arrangement of the tubes is classic Auris, with the use of four 7-pin Ei PL95 Pentode Power NOS (New Old Stock) tubes, which are the equivalent of 6DL5, and a single ECC81 dual triode input tube, also known as 12AT7.
Transformers are the essence of quality and that is why Auris Audio products contain only manually wound transformers on a double C core manufactured by Auris Audio. Each individual transformer is manufactured according to strictly defined requirements and therefore offers an almost linear characteristic over the entire acoustic range.
Structure
On the front panel, from left to right, are the on/off switch, input selector switch and 4-pin balanced XLR output. In the middle is the main volume control and right next to it is the 6.3mm single-ended headphone output. On the right side is the 50/150/300/600 ohm headphone input selector switch.
On the top of the device are the five tubes (4 x PL95 and 1 x ECC81), which are connected by a small They are protected by a grille that separates them from the controls.
On the back of the device, from left to right, there are the XLR and two RCA inputs as well as the preamplifier output. In the middle is the Tube EL 95 or PL 95 switch. On the right side are the input voltage selector switch, the power cable connector and the on/off switch.
Impendance selector switch
To get the most out of your headphones, we have equipped the HA-2SE+ with an impedance switch that allows you to choose 50/150/300/600 ohms depending on the type of headphones.
Tubes
The vacuum tubes used in Auris audio products are individually tested and inspected internally, so that only selected and coordinated tubes with the best properties are installed in our products.
The Auris HA2-SE is of course a Tube amplifier and uses four PL95 or EL95 power tubes along with an ECC81 input tube. The EL and PL95 tubes can both be used in the amplifier and you just need to flip the switch on the back as these tubes have different heating powers.
