Empyrean is the product of two passionate companies who came together to explore what is possible beyond their individual abilities. The result is an uncompromising headphone that embodies Meze's bold aesthetic and user-centered design approach and Rinaro's experience in research and development in the field of planar magnetics.
Rinaro, an advanced audio company, has at the heart of its technology a research and development team that has been at the forefront of planar magnet development since the 1980s. What originally began as a government-sponsored initiative focused on innovation has now opened a new chapter in audio development with the opening of a state-of-the-art industrial facility in Ukraine.

AUDIBLE BENEFITS OF A DUAL POWERED SYSTEM
One of the problems with traditional planar magnetic arrays is that the reflected signals enter the ear canal with different time delays, degrading the focus of the 3D sound imaging.
The combination of different voice coil configurations allows for better distribution of sound intensity across the sound wavefront at high frequencies when directed towards the auricle and ear canal.
ISOPLANAR® MEMBRANE MATERIAL
The membrane is made from a specially developed isotropic, thermally stabilized polymer with a conductive layer. An ultra-light yet stiff membrane was achieved through unique processing methods.
SWITCHBACK COIL
The switchback coil is more efficient at reproducing low frequencies and is located in the upper part of the driver.
SPIRAL COIL
The spiral coil is more efficient at reproducing medium and high frequencies and is positioned directly above the ear canal, allowing sound waves to penetrate the ear more directly and without time delay.
AN ERGONOMIC APPROACH LEADS TO A NEW WAY OF THINKING

To create an audiophile headphone that is powerful yet lightweight, the driver needed to maximize output power while reducing weight as much as possible.
Weight has been minimized through an optimized magnetic structure with an oval shape that better adapts to the ear. Power delivery has been increased through the use of a fully custom coil and magnet array design that optimizes the driver's active area within its oval shape.
ISOMAGNETIC® COUPLING TECHNOLOGY BETWEEN EARCUPS AND EAR PAD
An innovative feature is the Isomagnetic® earcup mount, which uses the degaussing field generated by the driver to hold the earcup in place while redirecting the magnetic field back into the driver, improving the driver's efficiency.

The ferromagnetic ear pads reduce the stray magnetic field that affects the listener's head.

Patented ferromagnetic plates redirect the magnetic field back into the driver, increasing performance.

SCATTER FIELD REDUCTION THROUGH ISOMAGNETIC® PLATE COUPLING
Patented ferromagnetic plates channel the degaussing field back into the driver, increasing efficiency by 1 dB or 12%, and deflecting 95% of stray fields away from the head.
