The nearly ten-year worldwide success of the U12t, further enhanced by a design update in 2025, is honored with a special edition.

The TWELVE Ti is exactly what the name suggests: a U12t enhanced by using an equally renowned element – titanium – for the housings, faceplates, and exclusive m20 Apex modules. The strength, durability, and bio-harmony of titanium, combined with the legendary sound of the U12t, create the ultimate icon of timeless style and performance.

Ti-6Al-4V (Tc4) titanium

Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) is the most commonly used alpha-beta titanium alloy, consisting of ~90% Ti, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. It offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, high corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility.

Key applications include structural components for aerospace, medical implants, high-performance motorsport parts, and now also
Audiophile-quality headphones.

Shielded cable

This cable, specially designed for the TWELVE Ti, completes the look of a seamless titanium aesthetic.

The four-conductor, cross-braided cable is made of silver-plated single-crystal copper (UP-OCC) and offers excellent interference shielding as well as transparent signal transmission.

With a low impedance of only 0.29 Ω, it maximizes electrical efficiency.

  • 0.78 mm non-recessed 2-pin connector
  • 24 AWG 4-conductor Litz cable with 99 strands per conductor
  • Silver-plated UP-OCC copper
  • 0.29 Ohm total impedance

tia®

Tubeless In-Ear Audio (tia) is a patented IEM design method,
which aims to reduce unwanted resonances and distortions, thus achieving a transparent and natural sound character.

The tia system consists of three main elements: open, balanced tia armature drivers, the tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers. The U12t features two main elements of the tia system: the tia driver and the tia single-bore design.

apex®

Air Pressure Exchange (Apex) is a patented venting port that releases air pressure in a closed ear canal while maintaining the typical noise isolation level of IEMs; this allows musicians and music lovers to listen longer and more comfortably.

This vent reduces listener fatigue and allows for a much more realistic soundstage. Apex is available for the U12t in three module variants: mX, m15, and m20.

LID®

Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that corrects the nonlinear electrical resistance of the various driver sets that make up this 12-driver IEM.

Fluctuating output impedances of source amplifiers in devices like smartphones, bodypacks, DAC/amplifiers, and DAPs usually lead to a varying frequency response in these devices, depending on the increase in resistance. Restoring proper interaction with the source and maintaining the desired sound signature enable consistent, reliable sound.
