To protect the diaphragm from damage during daily use, a metal protective grille is installed at a considerable distance from the diaphragm. The grille is made of rounded metal wires arranged in a loose mesh, preserving the acoustic properties of the open-back design while providing reliable protection without compromising sound transmission.

Large 100 mm diaphragm with FDT (Full Drive Tech)

Unlike conventional planar magnetic headphones, MOONDROP's full-size planar headphones feature an ultra-large 100 mm-diameter diaphragm and Full Drive Technology (FDT). The result is low split vibration, far superior to conventional planar magnetic headphones and comparable to that of electrostatic headphones.

Full Drive Technology

The vibrating part of the diaphragm is positioned within a uniform planar magnetic field, and effective drive circuits extend across the entire vibrating surface, with an effective drive area of approximately 95.5%. This applies uniform driving force across the entire surface, comparable to that of electrostatic headphones, eliminating split vibrations and delivering far better treble performance than conventional planar magnetic headphones.
