After successfully launching small portable devices, EarMen has gone one step further and developed a special line of devices for you that will bring you a real and unique pleasure in listening to music. EarMen has developed a fully balanced desktop headphone amplifier with excellent characteristics and a linear power supply.

Composite amplifier topology

A composite amplifier topology is implemented in the CH-Amp. Composite operational amplifiers combine the best of both worlds with excellent DC and AC characteristics. These amplifiers offer several advantages over other types of amplifiers.

Power amplifiers typically use thermal feedback loops that cause serious errors when driving heavy loads. These errors occur due to self-heating. Using composite materials can eliminate such defects and improve circuit performance.

The composite amplifiers also provide better DC output offset. The excess load on the output transistors does not affect the offset voltage.

Design

We used WIMA capacitors and audio electrolytes in combination with low-noise MELF resistors and SoundPlus OPA1642 op-amps, which proved to be excellent at achieving a neutral sound. The EarMen CH-Amp has excellent characteristics, a very low signal-to-noise ratio and distortion factor, an excellent frequency response and a lot of power, with the characteristics of the device changing little even under heavy loads.

EarMen CH-Amp has two important ones Features: preamp outputs and a gain switch. The CH-Amp has balanced and unbalanced preamp outputs so you can connect it to powered monitors for a complete system. The gain switch gives you more control over both the output level and impedance for a better match with your headphones.

Exceptional workmanship

The CH-Amp is constructed from a full-block aluminum body, making it extremely durable and robust. Its compact design makes it fit into any environment, facility or home. The circuit board is embedded in a solid aluminum housing, which means that the circuit board is better protected inside the housing and is also insulated against external influences.


Fully balanced architecture

The EarMen CH-Amp is a fully balanced headphone amp, meaning the balanced outputs from the source go to the output unaltered, just amplified.From the single-ended input, the signals are converted into balanced signals without phase shift (phase imbalance), so the + and - signals obtained are perfectly in phase. In this way we remove unwanted forests and prevent them from being added in the device.
