New features of the DI-25HE
1. Integrated HDMI IIS input to which source devices with compatible HDMI IIS output can be connected.
2. The HDMI input signal filters out jitter, resynchronizes clock and data, and generates the most accurate clock signal, significantly improving the sound quality of the connected source, especially for low- and mid-range devices.
3. The resolution of the source's HDMI output must match the figure below and the source's MCLK signal must be below 40 MHz (most sources have a built-in 24.576 MHz clock compatible with the DI-25HE's HDMI input).
4. We tested the DI-2014 (a 10-year-old DI) and a $300 CD player, along with a few other sources, and connected them to the DI-25HE. The sound quality improved significantly, almost matching that of the DI-25HE connected directly to a MacBook Pro.
5. The new clock configuration design improves the sound quality for all inputs.
Additional features
1. Built-in regenerative power supply like in a private power generator, built with pure Class A power supplies and pure Class A integrated amplifiers.
2. Built-in Amanero USB interface, which is the most compatible and stable. During testing, it supported WIN, OSX, IOS, and Linux, and was tested with some TV and phone models based on the Android system.
3. The HDMI IIS output can set the definitions of PCM and DSD via the display menu.
4. Built-in R-core transformer with best sound quality and 13 groups of ultra power supplies that supply the different signal parts separately.
5. The USB interface and the FPGA processor use the same clocks to avoid different clocks affecting the sound quality.
6. The FPGA data processing mode can select either parallel or serial mode. The USB output IIS data is transmitted in serial transmission mode, with each data processing or transmission requiring one clock cycle.
A data frame (including L and R data) requires 64 clock cycles for processing or transmission, so the data is affected by the 64 clock cycles. In parallel data processing and transmission mode, however, only one clock cycle is required to complete the processing and transmission of a data frame, thus avoiding the influence of clock stability.
The USB data is recombined into double 32-bit parallel data after input, and the DSD input is recombined into double 64-bit parallel data after input.
The parallel processing and transmission mode can improve sound quality in terms of transparency and detail, but still remains analog. In parallel processing mode, all data processing occurs at a clock frequency of 256 fs, unlike the conventional mode, which samples different music data at a variable clock frequency of 64 to 256 fs. The fixed clock frequency of 256 fs allows the signal to have more precise phase timing and be processed at the same timing to maintain the sound character.
7. The display can show the sampling of PCM and DSD and serves as a human-machine interface, allowing the user to change the settings in the device.
8. Integrated USB firmware update button and FPGA firmware update port, firmware update without opening the device and support for future sound quality improvements.
9. Digital data and clock signals are even more susceptible to interference during transmission than analog signals, which can lead to degraded DAC sound or even malfunction. Therefore, the DI-24HE incorporates multiple high-performance driver chips to drive the various data and clock signals, reducing the impact during transmission.
Pure analogue regenerative power supply
The regenerative power supply is like a proprietary power generator built into the device. It can block most power line interference, supply the audio amplifiers with extremely clean power, and reproduce the most neutral and analog sound, like an audio signal, for the system and users.
In the design of the regenerative power supply, the alternating current is converted to direct current by the regenerative input transformer and provided to the regenerative wave generator and driver stages via the Class A power supplies.
A symmetrical regenerative wave generator produces an extremely low-distortion 50 Hz wave, which, via symmetrical amplifiers and powerful output stages, drives the regenerative transformers that produce clean AC power for the separate Class A power supplies.
Built-in Accusilicon clocks with 90 and 98 MHz
Please note
The product has a built-in Amanero USB interface, whose USB port is well compatible with Windows, Apple OS/iOS and computers running Linux/Android (including PI, ROCK64, newer Android smartphones and TVs). However, we cannot guarantee that it will be compatible with the USB output of non-computer-based digital transport devices.
The DI-25HE features built-in ultra-speed isolation, completely isolating the USB and clock inputs from all outputs. No external USB isolation is required; the USB port can be connected directly to the computer.
There are many different IIS definitions from other brands that need to be set on the front panel to match the DAC IIS input definition. Customers can also send us the definition and ask how it needs to be set before shipping.
