SKYLAND features a highly praised, acoustically transparent open-back design that significantly reduces reflections from external influences, resulting in clearer mids and highs. The structural edge next to the diaphragm seamlessly transitions into a matte surface with low diffraction to minimize high-frequency diffraction, leading to a natural and transparent sound.

To protect the diaphragm from damage during daily use, a metal protective grille is mounted at a considerable distance from the diaphragm. This grille consists of round-polished metal wires arranged in a loose weave, preserving the acoustic properties of the open design while ensuring reliable protection without impairing sound transmission.

Large 100 mm diaphragm with FDT (Full Drive Tech)

Unlike conventional planar magnetic headphones, MOONDROP’s planar full-size headphones feature an ultra-large diaphragm with a diameter of 100 mm and Full Drive Technology (FDT). The result is minimal split vibration, far superior to conventional planar magnetic headphones and comparable to electrostatic headphones.

Full Drive Technology

The vibrating part of the diaphragm is located in a uniform planar magnetic field, and effective drive circuits extend across the entire vibrating surface area, with an effective drive area of about 95.5%. This applies a uniform driving force over the entire surface, comparable to that of electrostatic headphones, eliminating split vibrations and achieving far better performance in the treble range than conventional planar magnetic headphones.
