Solo redefines the meaning of "full-range sound" in high-end portable audio, covering the entire sonic spectrum with a single planar driver. The final tone in our legendary tia™ line of UIEMs has been developed over years.
True to the technically groundbreaking legacy of Fourté, Trio, and Duo, we have historically sought innovative solutions to the modern challenge of tuning a single driver. In addition to a conventional electronic filter that subtly shifts the tonal balance, we employ a dual Helmholtz resonator for precise sound adjustments.

The agile performance expected from a planar driver achieves maximum realism by extracting subtle details in the music. These transients emerge from the mix, seamlessly keeping pace with your focus on the song's primary elements.
Our acoustic notch filters are strategically placed to eliminate harshness without compromising driver performance. The Apex core enhances the high-mid and high frequencies, creating a vast soundscape, even in the most complex mixes.
Alongside this realism comes a tactile immersion in the textures of the instruments and even the sonic characteristics of the recording equipment used in your favorite tracks. By carefully shaping the overall reproduction of Solo, we achieve bass with significant impact and deep sub-bass presence.
The acoustic chamber of the 14.2 mm planar driver incorporates two Helmholtz resonators, carefully tuned to acoustically shape the frequency response. This chamber also features our Apex Core design, which expertly relieves air pressure and enhances the sense of physical space to a degree never before achieved in a single-driver IEM.
Combined with our patented LID technology, all of these innovations are incorporated into our most striking design update since Fourté launched in 2016. These elements combine to deliver a sound that is truly 64 Audio, combining the exceptionally detailed transient response of planar technology with an unexpectedly robust low-frequency presence.
Copper 8x cable
Solo is paired with our first pure copper cable. The 23 x 25 AWG OCC copper cable is constructed in eight braids with a pleasant feel and an impressively low impedance of 0.26 Ω. Solo comes standard with two of these cables: a 3.5 mm single-ended cable and a 4.4 mm balanced cable.
Outstanding technology
While planar magnet technology has been present in portable hi-fi equipment for many years, we wanted to truly leverage its potential in our products. To offer a fresh perspective on this technology, we needed a combination of a slight but broad reduction in high-frequency amplitude and the attenuation of some very narrow frequency bands.
Because the electronic filter acts as a very subtle reductive regulator, we had to think creatively to effectively control some problematic frequencies. To achieve this, we drew on our years of research into Helmholtz resonators, an acoustic device dating back to the mid-19th century.
The two micro-resonators, 3D-printed inside Solo's sound chamber, work by pushing air in and out, causing the air inside to resonate at a specific frequency. By precisely determining the dimensions of the cavity and its throat, we can target a very narrow resonant frequency to boost or reduce it.
The planar magnetic driver features a flat diaphragm with embedded conductors suspended between two sets of magnets, unlike conventional dynamic drivers that use a conical diaphragm driven by a voice coil.
Because the entire diaphragm moves smoothly due to the planar magnetic field, we can deliver the detail and micro-transient information that would normally require a dedicated high-frequency driver.
Because the diaphragm is not driven by a voice coil attached to a cone, which can cause uneven movement, we can reliably produce true, high-resolution, full-range sound with this single driver.
Patented technology
Tubeless in-ear audio is a patented IEM design methodology aimed at reducing unwanted resonances and distortion to achieve a transparent and lifelike sound signature. The tia system consists of three main elements: open, balanced tia drivers, the tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers. Solo features two main elements of the tia system: the single-bore design and micro-acoustic chambers.
As another innovation, we utilize our patented pressure-relieving technology in the form of the Apex Core, taking this design to a new level of audio fidelity and spatial clarity. Because the Solo's acoustic chamber incorporates our integrated Apex Core technology, we achieve a similar fit and comfort to the Duo. The design provides just enough isolation to allow the listener to focus on the sound while feeling so unobstructed that you might initially question whether the seal is properly in place. This ensures hours of listening pleasure, enabled by our patented technology.
Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that compensates for the nonlinear electrical resistance introduced by Solo's electronic filter. Varying source amplifier output impedance in devices such as smartphones, bodypacks, DAC/amplifiers, and DAPs typically results in changes in frequency response. LID restores proper interaction with the source, preserving the intended sonic signature and ensuring consistent, reliable performance.
