Reviews
"You could hear the air moving off the kick drum, feel the hiss of the cymbal and snare, while the amount of information in the lower octaves was amplified by Rick Danko's great bass playing. What matters is the perceived value, however, as the Auris Nirvana exudes luxury. "—Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News
"The ability to increase performance and get out of the way makes this a magical instrument that offers the listener a lifetime of musical awesomeness. The Nirvana will stay with me as my new reference amp for my personal and professional listening. We recommend. " - Frank Iacone, Headphone Guru
From idea to reality
The great success of its predecessors, the HA-2SE and the Headonia - a TOTAL reference tube amp - inspired the Auris team to develop another tube amp that will be extremely capable.
The Auris Audio Nirvana is one of those amps that performs great with every single pair of headphones you throw at it, from the lightest, dynamic headphones to the hardest, magnetic headphones, and vice versa. The range of supported headphone impedances is huge - from 32 to 600 ohms.
Apart from the fact that it might be overpowered, there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this amp. It looks stunning and the separate power supply gives it a particularly elegant look. The external power supply, which supplies the amplifier section with the best possible constant current (not AC), is the safest choice if audiophile performance is to be achieved.
If you're looking for a musical instrument that delivers maximum performance, or if you're looking for a product that will make you feel like you're in heaven, then look no further than the Auris Nirvana.
sound
The Auris Nirvana proves that headphone bass performance can rival the quality and quantity of massive bass. No loss of detail, perfect clarity, precision and airiness with all headphones connected. Sonically, the Nirvana is a hybrid of the Auris Ha2 and the Headonia amp, as it combines the best of both. In Balanced mode, many hidden layers of music are revealed and playback becomes a bit more detailed.
It sounds like heaven with a dynamic, wide and very well layered sound with a good amount of warmth and tube smoothness. The Nirvana gets it all right sonically (and visually) and it's just impossible not to like it.
Technology
In terms of technology, the qualities of Nirvana are reflected in:
- Carefully selected and pre-tested tubes - should be 10. last 000 hours.
- Powered by Electro Harmonix's iconic EL34, a pentode commonly found in UK amps.
- The drive tube is Tung-Sol's ECC82, which is popular in the audio world as a low-noise tube for most common amplifier circuits.
- Transformers - manually wound on a double C core and manufactured in-house according to strictly defined requirements.
- High quality components - branded products from Mundorf, Rubicon, Wima etc.
