Into the Multiverse - UM Multiverse Mentor

Into the Multiverse - UM Multiverse Mentor

It's been a while since an IEM really gave me goosebumps, but it's finally that time again!

The Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor does very little other IEMs - It impresses from the first note.

But before I go into more detail about the sound, as always, a few unboxing impressions.

The Multiverse Mentor comes in a simple but chic blue box that is not too big. Unique Melody do without frills and concentrate on the essentials: the product. This is protected by a generous, high-quality, blue leather case and offers plenty of space for additional accessories.

And here we have the Multiverse Mentor IEMs in all their glory - of course with a high-quality (blue) cable. The cable has the sonorous name "Deep of Universe" and is specially made for the Multiverse Mentor by PWAudio. The quality of this cable is correspondingly excellent and it goes perfectly with the IEMs in terms of looks AND sound.

By now it has become clear that the color blue dominates this product. Of course, it's a matter of taste whether you like it or not - I think it looks classy and stylish.

The only exception are the faceplates, which are made from Banksia seeds. Banksia (Banksia) are a genus of plants within the family of silver tree plants (Proteaceae). Of the 80 species, only one (Banksia dentata) occurs outside of Australia. (Source: wikipedia. com)

The shells are made of carbon fibers and (blue) titanium frames. A lot of noble materials are used here and give the Multiverse Mentor its unique appearance.

If you look at the faceplates in different lighting conditions, there is a kind of hologram effect in the dark areas, which gives you the feeling of looking into an unfathomable depth. Hence the name Multiverse Mentor, because with a little imagination you can look into other "universes".
But that's just my personal naming theory. 😅

But how does it sound now?

I tested the Multiverse Mentor with the brand new Cayin N7 DAP, because both devices arrived almost simultaneously.

Cayin N7

What can I say: The first bars of the music made me gasp and after a few minutes I needed the first break.

Not because it sounded so bad, but quite the opposite: what this combination sent to my ears and my brain was absolutely stunning and at first glance almost too much of a good thing! After a short breather, I dared a second attempt and involuntarily a broad grin combined with goosebumps appeared.

It rarely happens to me and it's a sure sign that this is a really special product.

The Multiverse Mentor (MM) works with verve and passion that I have not seen in any other IEM. Everything, really EVERYTHING is just big - almost huge!

Stage & Imaging

The MM draws what is probably the largest and most three-dimensional stage I have ever heard of from an IEM . This would make the MM the first in-ear monitor to match and even surpass the legendary OriolusTraillii in this respect.

Details & Treble

But it's not just the stage that's unique, the MM also sweeps the details around your ears like there's no tomorrow. And the highs are incredibly airy and transparent without being in the least exhausting or "sibilant", i.e. producing unpleasant hissing sounds.

Middles & voices

Voices and the middles in general are wonderfully natural and you think you're standing in front of the artists during live recordings. It doesn't get any better than that! Or is it?

BASS!!!

Yes! I forgot to mention that the Multiverse Mentor produces some of the heaviest, bloodcurdling bass I've ever heard from a balanced armature setup! I correct: This is probably the best bass I've ever heard from an in-ear, period.

In connection with the Cayin N7, that could be almost too much for some music lovers, because what this combination sends to your ears is not for the faint of heart!

I've heard countless IEMs, DAPs and combos of both over the years and I'm not easily fazed. It happened here, but after a short period of getting used to it, the Multiverse Mentor and N7 combo got me downright addicted!

A customer who heard a number of DAPs and Flagship IEMs sample last week then kept my Multiverse Mentor demo right away, so I'm without it for the moment. 😱😣

The withdrawal symptoms are already noticeable and so I have no choice but to order a new MM demo as soon as possible so that I can enjoy this addictive combination again myself.

Conclusion: Addictive

In conclusion, I can only sum up that the Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor is simply stunning - in the truest sense of the word!

Do you like the feeling of being at a live concert and being right in front of the orchestra or audience? to stand by the band not only to hear the music but to feel it? Do you want an immersive, intense, sweaty experience? You want to dive into other dimensions?

Great! Then you have found the IEM that brings you closest to this feeling with the Multiverse Mentor .

For music lovers who prefer to relax or There's nothing like relaxing here, because with the Multiverse Mentor they would be overwhelmed very quickly.

The Multiverse Mentor is not an IEM that can or wants to please everyone. He polarizes and either you like him or you don't like him. It is a statement of what is possible today with the latest technology and great tuning, and it takes the top spot in my personal list of the best!

So, enough writing - I have to get a new Multiverse Mentor demo very quickly order. 🙌😍
